Cyber Security for Canadian Value Food Chain
The Community Safety Knowledge Alliance (CSKA) is conducting research on behalf of CSA Group on cybersecurity and cybersecurity standards for the food value chain. We invite players in the food value chain – such as farmers, suppliers, processors, distributors and retailers, service providers and those involved in research and innovation – to consider taking part in a new national survey.
In today’s digital world, the food system relies on technology — from farming and processing to transportation and retail. However, as food value chain businesses adopt digital technologies and become more interconnected, they also become more vulnerable to cyber threats. It is crucial to ensure strong cybersecurity to protecting the systems that keep our food supply running smoothly. A cyber attack on any part of the food value chain could disrupt operations, compromise sensitive data, and even impact food safety and availability. Because our food system is a critical infrastructure and a key part of Canada’s economy and global position, its integrity and performance also contribute to national security.
By prioritizing cybersecurity and knowing about the roles that standards, guidelines and training can play, we can strengthen the food value chain, protect businesses, and maintain the trust of consumers and trade partners.
